Global real estate consultancy JLL has launched a three-year, $2.6 million Future Skills programme with the aim of building up a pipeline of strong local talent for Singapore’s real estate industry.

The programme covers three areas. Firstly, it will deepen JLL’s local talent pipeline of interns, graduates and apprentices, as well as set out early career pathways for the industry’s workforce. The company will partner local tertiary and vocational institutions to offer internship opportunities and entry-level positions to 122 local undergrads, graduates and technical associates for three years.

Secondly, it aims to create employment opportunities for midcareer professionals from adjacent industries through retraining and skills enhancement initiatives. Possible employment opportunities in the future include engineers and facility managers, and senior roles in facilities management.

Thirdly, the programme will equip existing JLL’s Singaporean employees with professional skills they need to be future-ready and globally competitive. This will focus on innovation and human-centric design; sales and business development; as well as PropTech, data and analytics.

“Real estate is an exciting and increasingly tech- enabled field and we see tremendous potential in tapping into Singapore’s highly skilled workforce to fuel the growth of our business here,” says Helen Snowball, head of human resources, JLL Asia Pacific.

Singapore is JLL’s regional headquarters in Asia Pacific. The company provides services such as valuations, consulting, investment sales, leasing and project and development services.
