3 NEW FEATURES IN THE CONTINENTAL GT
01 UPDATED W12 ENGINE
Based on the motor launched with the Bentayga, this combines high-pressure direct fuel injection with low-pressure port injection for lower emissions and higher power. Half its cylinders may be disabled to save petrol. It is mated with Bentley’s first dual-clutch transmission, an eight-speed sourced from Porsche.
02 WORLD’S LARGEST IRON BRAKES
With great power comes great responsibility. Measuring 420mm at the front, the stoppers on the Conti are the biggest non-ceramic discs ever fitted on a production car. The 22-inch rims are polished and finished by hand, and are directional (i.e. the left and right sides are different), a nice detail.
03 AWESOME SOUND
This Bang & Olufsen in-car entertainment system features 16 speakers and a 1,500W amplifier, but for truly thumping sound, the apex Naim upgrade with a mind-boggling 2,200W of power is the one to shell out for. Road noisereducing laminated glass is standard and presumably keeps the rap music from escaping the cabin, too.
