JES­SICA CHEAM FOUNDER, ECO- BUSI­NESS

A vet­eran award­win­ning en­vi­ron­men­tal jour­nal­ist, Cheam founded Eco- Busi­ness in 2009 to pro­vide a plat­form for the re­gion to dis­cuss and ad­vance sus­tain­abil­ity is­sues.

Cheam serves as strate­gic ad­viser to Blue Planet En­vi­ron­men­tal So­lu­tions, and is cur­rently chair­ing the Cli­mate Ac­tion SG Al­liance – a new ini­tia­tive sup­ported by the Min­istry of the En­vi­ron­ment and Wa­ter Re­sources to ad­vo­cate cli­mate ac­tion and raise pub­lic aware­ness of cli­mate is­sues.

She is also the pub­lished author of Forg­ing a Greener To­mor­row:Sin­ga­pore’s En­vi­ron­men­talJour­ney from Slum to Eco-city.

FRANK PHUAN CHIEF EX­EC­U­TIVE OF­FI­CER, SUN­SEAP GROUP

The sec­ond gen­er­a­tion of a 35- year- old so­lar en­ergy busi­ness, Phuan has led nu­mer­ous projects in­volv­ing so­lar sys­tems tech­nolo­gies, sus­tain­abil­ity strat­egy, green build­ings and in­fra­struc­ture, and green­house gas emis­sions re­duc­tion.

He has helmed So­lar Power Pur­chase Agree­ment projects across the Asia- Pa­cific and played a key role in the en­gi­neer­ing, re­duc­tion, and lev­el­ling of the cost of so­lar en­ergy in Sin­ga­pore.

Phuan was recog­nised for his con­tri­bu­tion to the clean en­ergy in­dus­try at last year’s The Peak Power List cel­e­brat­ing dis­rup­tors and in­no­va­tors.

SI­MON TAY CHAIR­MAN, SIN­GA­PORE IN­STI­TUTE OF IN­TER­NA­TIONAL AF­FAIRS

In ad­di­tion to helm­ing Sin­ga­pore’s premier geopo­lit­i­cal think- tank, Tay is a law pro­fes­sor at the Na­tional Univer­sity of Sin­ga­pore, an award­win­ning author and a se­nior con­sul­tant at Wong Part­ner­ship.

He served as chair­man of Sin­ga­pore’s Na­tional En­vi­ron­ment Agency from 2002 to 2008, and as an in­de­pen­dent Nom­i­nated Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment from 1997 to 2001.

He leads the SIIA in con­duct­ing re­search and spear­head­ing di­a­logue on a range of en­vi­ron­men­tal is­sues re­lated to cli­mate change, en­ergy and the re­source sec­tor. The in­sti­tute also en­gages in­dus­try play­ers and thought lead­ers in its ef­forts to ad­vo­cate sus­tain­able prac­tices.

KOH SOO BOON FOUND­ING MAN­AG­ING PART­NER, IGLOBE PART­NERS

With a wealth of ex­pe­ri­ence in Sil­i­con Val­ley deal­ings and as ex­ec­u­tive man­age­ment in some of Sin­ga­pore’s ear­li­est ven­ture cap­i­tal for­ays, Koh has a keen sense for busi­ness po­ten­tial.

She has achieved con­sis­tent topquar­tile re­turns for her in­vest­ments and es­tab­lished her­self as a prom­i­nent leader in the in­vest­ing com­mu­nity, work­ing along­side prom­i­nent VCs such as Se­quoia Cap­i­tal, IVP, RRE Ven­tures, Ten­cent and Qual­comm Ven­tures.

Koh chairs the Ca­reer Women’s Group of the Sin­ga­pore Chi­nese Cham­ber of Com­merce & In­dus­try, where she cham­pi­ons ca­reer women in Sin­ga­pore.
