Tag Heuer updates old favourites for a new generation.
01 AUTAVIA 60TH ANNIVERSARY FLYBACK CHRONOGRAPH
The Autavia wristwatch family celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. A portmanteau of automobile and aviation, Autavia was the name originally used for Tag Heuer’s dashboard timers in cars and aircraft from as early as 1933. Featuring distinctive chronograph pushers and a large crown inspired by Tag Heuer’s historic dashboard instruments, the Autavia 60th Anniversary Flyback Chronograph is the first watch in the Autavia family to feature a flyback function. Powered by the automatic Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback, it is available with a silver or black dial and in a steel or DLC-coated steel case, respectively.
02 FORMULA 1 RED BULL RACING SPECIAL EDITION
Tag Heuer has been partnering with the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team since 2016, and the latest Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Special Edition timepiece honours their partnership. As expected, the new watch bears the dark blue and red hues of the Red Bull racing livery. The navy, sun-brushed dial and blue aluminium bezel contrast with red accents, including the minute chapter ring. The 43mm steel chronograph watch also pays tribute to Formula 1 racing by including a line above the numerals five and seven on the dial to evoke the starting line of an F1 track.
03 AQUARACER PROFESSIONAL 200
Tag Heuer updated its Aquaracer Professional 300 collection last year, making it sleeker and more refined. It now turns to the Aquaracer Professional 200, which Maria Laffont, VP of product and design, describes as a “bold, stylish, all-terrain sports watch”. Available in a 40mm steel case and a 30mm version, the Aquaracer Professional 200 is similar to the Professional 300 range in terms of aesthetics. Both, for instance, have a 12-sided bezel and updated, shorter lugs that make them more comfortable. The Professional 200, however, is smaller and slimmer, and its bezel features a steel insert rather than a ceramic one. It also features models with automatic or quartz movements.
