The Porsche 911 GT3 RS needs no introduction, for the most courageous and experienced drivers who have dedicated their lives to mastering the limits of performance already know what it stands for. It is the chosen steed of the motoring purist.

Since its inception, the Porsche 911 has been the defining benchmark for sports cars, and the 911 GT3 RS sits at its apex. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is forged from the fires of competition and an insatiable obsession for continuous improvement. It is a thoroughbred sports car for uncompromising racing enthusiasts.

To the driver, only the most exceptional levels of precision that can deliver the most scintillating experiences are considered acceptable. At the beating, searing and screaming heart of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS sits the most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever applied to a Porsche.

Every element of this flat-6 engine, from the pistons to the smallest bolt, has been machined to the finest specification to enable otherworldly performance.

They are perfectly matched to the razor-sharp character of this track-prepared sports car. The 4-litre flat-6 sings a ferocious 9000rpm concerto, delivering 20hp more than the 911 GT3 and its sibling, the 911 GT3 Cup. A singular purpose, with a gestation intricately intertwined with motorsport, defines the 911 GT3 RS. On top of proven technologies such as VarioCam already seen in series production Porsches, the 911 GT3 RS is built to withstand the rigours of the racetrack.

Innovation is inherent in the 911 GT3 RS, with technologies such as dry-sump lubrication, which uses a total of seven suction stages to give the car the capacity to tolerate immense lateral and longitudinal accelerations.

Every bit of the rest of the car exudes a similar ethos of setting the benchmark for performance and precision. An aerodynamic design, obtained from the 911 Turbo’s body, offers incredible levels of stability and agility. To enhance the 911 GT3 RS’ ethereal abilities, its lightweight construction has been allied with maximum downforce – 144kg of it at 200km/h. The PDK gearbox in the 911 GT3 RS has had its control systems improved so that it shifts faster. The tyres have also been further developed. Nothing has been spared the scrutiny of the Porsche motorsport team, which remains determinedly focused on raising the bar. Something special happens when you tell people that they should be the best. That their mission is to create something representing the very pinnacle of achievement. Indeed being “good enough” is never enough for Porsche. To always remain ahead, there can be no compromises. No corners shall be cut. And no concessions are to be made, even when there are competing objectives. When the very best engineers in the world set out to make the very best sports car, the result is magic.

The result is the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
