Cloudy ice cubes do the job, but they can ruin the look of a fancy drink. For crys­tal­clear ice cubes, boil the wa­ter twice be­fore you freeze it. Boil­ing gets rid of any gases and min­er­als like cal­cium and flu­o­ride—“im­pu­ri­ties” that can make ice cubes cloudy.
