Leading Swiss brand Franke, presented in Singapore by KHK Asia, continues to re-invent and revolutionise the modern household. Joining an extant line of excellent stainless steel sinks, are two new product lines, the Maris Free family and Smart Deco range hoods—head down to Franke Kitchen World, newly launched last year, to get a first-hand look at these new additions.

Designed by award-winning architect and designer Dror Benshetrit, Franke’s Maris product family includes ovens, gas ranges and other appliances pleasing to the eye and touch. Standing out in stark contrast to its elegant glass surfaces is the Maris Free family’s corrugated taps, ribbed stove tops and angular rotary knobs—certainly a departure from conventional kitchen appliance designs. Seven colours are available, namely black, white, oyster, silver, grey, copper gold and copper grey. In the functionality department, Maris Free ovens are operated by three rotary knobs that are sure to please home cooks with a preference for tactility over touchscreen displays. A hydrolytic cleaning option is also available: Steam and mild heat interact with each other within the oven to loosen spills, debris and soiling on the inner walls. Simply wipe and clean with a washcloth, and you’re good to go once more. Meanwhile, the gas ranges sport cast-iron pan supports that goes a long way towards precision cooking. They allow an almost loss-free transfer of heat and an extremely high level of stability, so you focus on the task at hand.

Round off your kitchen with Franke’s Smart Deco range hoods, designed specifically

for the modern household. Equipped with an intuitive operation panel, the hood is easy to use, complete with three power levels. Additionally, the hoods operate at a soft, unintrusive hum of 68 decibels. Energy conservation is at the core of its design: The hoods register at an enviable energy efficiency rating of A, and is outfitted with energy-efficient three-watt LED strips that will light up any serious kitchen work or late night culinary adventures.

Its smooth, semi-matt finish makes it a cinch to maintain— no elbow grease required. Plus, you can pop the filters into the dishwasher for a fuss-free clean.

What’s more, the Smart Deco hoods are available in seven beautiful colours that match with other colourful kitchen accessories and components from Franke’s wide range of products—including the Maris Free family— so you can be sure your picture-perfect kitchen looks like no one else’s. Take your pick from soft shades of warm white, light grey and light blue, to stronger tones of green, rose, mustard yellow and black.

Feel free to play around with the available hues! The colour combinations are simply endless: For the sleek look, match a black Smart Deco hood with the Maris Free set of the same colour, or go for a rose hood paired up with a lunar grey hob for a more playful aesthetic. The Franke world is your oyster— take the elements you love best and leave the rest behind.
