Claude Bernard extends its line-up with the affordable goldclad Classic Chronograph Blue Edition

Whether one is looking for a beater watch or an interim timepiece before the next big purchase, Claude Bernard’s Classic Chronograph Blue Edition bears a closer look, especially considering its price. The watch sports a pink gold colour-coated stainless steel case measuring 42mm – perfectly sized for the modern wearer.

As a dressy chronograph, the Classic Chronograph Blue Edition has the familiar tri-compax layout, with running seconds at six o’clock, and the chronograph’s minute and hour totalisers at 10 and two o’clock respectively. The minimalist design approach sees the simple indexes and chapter ring matched to sword-shaped hands, with an equally unassuming tachymeter on the flange encircling the set-up. For a touch of visual interest, the centre portion of the dial has been decorated with vertical stripes a la Côtes de Genève, while the aperture at four o’clock is enlarged to show three numbers on the date wheel. Powering the watch is an ETA G10.211 quartz chronograph movement, a reliable workhorse calibre. MOVEMENT Quartz CB Calibre 010 based on ETA G10.211 chronograph movement
