The reigning king of Teochew desserts in Singapore. While there are many different permutations now, the one that is truly Teochew is made with pork lard and shallots, and topped with sugar-cured pumpkin and sweet gingko nuts. A thick, clear and slightly sweet broth is spooned over just before serving. The sweet broth is mixed with the thick yam paste before eating.
