The second series of the Reverso à Eclipse watch is a tribute to Vincent van Gogh by Jaeger-LeCoultre and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. It features an enamelled miniature of Self-Portrait As A Painter (1887-88) on the dial, one of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings and part of the permanent collection of the Museum. The Reverso à Eclipse is a unique reversible watch featuring a platinum case equipped with the in-house Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 849. A simple gesture is enough to open the shutters of the watch either partially or fully (hence the “eclipse”) to reveal a miniature enamel recreation of Van Gogh’s work. The first series was presented last year featuring his iconic Sunflowers. This unique masterpiece in a platinum case, of which only four pieces will be made, can be admired at the museum.
