BEST FOR The cheesiest meals around. FOOD This coffee shop is adjacent to one of the best cheese shops in the city. Cheese Gourmet had us at all-day breakfasts: try the cheese duo frittata, topped with gruyère and mozzarella, or trout scramble with a dollop of crème fraîche and capers on top of scrambled eggs.

Quick meals include the Cheeza Treat (chorizo, artichokes and olives on rye, covered in cheese sauce); the Fungi Trio (panini with mushrooms and a trio of cheese); or grilled baby camembert topped with fig-and-onion compote. Or choose from the sandwich bar, burgers or platters of South African cheeses served with bread, pickles and home-made chilli jam. Finish off with a fat slice of cake. DRINKS They make a good cappuccino. They don’t serve alcohol; BYO at no extra charge. SERVICE Staff are friendly and very accommodating. AMBIENCE It’s an unfussy place that’s popular, and has indoor and outdoor seating. (KK)
