BEST FOR Family brunches. FOOD This is a relaxed eatery tucked into the oasis of the long-established, familyowned Montrose Nursery. The fare includes several inventively named meals like the John Gotti full-house breakfast with eggs, rosemary-infused mushrooms, tomato, bacon or macon, sausage and toast; or try the Norma Jean fluffy omelette with a choice of fillings. The menu offers home-made burgers, salads, tramezzinis and toasties. The kitchen takes pride in the use of organic herbs, vegetables and fruit. DRINKS There are a handful of reasonably priced wines by the bottle or glass, as well as Illy coffee, smoothies and milkshakes. SERVICE Friendly and helpful. AMBIENCE A sunny garden adorned with wind chimes, hanging baskets and woven hearts is the drawcard of this café. Iron tables are scattered under the trees; the airy double-volume interior is decorated with an eclectic collection of memorabilia. A small, secure children’s playground is located on a lower level.
