Eat Out

MOONSHOT CAFÉ

-

BEST FOR Canteen-eating with a difference. FOOD The captive audience that comes here for meals does it for the quantity and quality they receive at an appealing price. The Zulu breakfast of two hardboiled eggs, hickory ham, cheddar, Romanita tomatoes and a panini ticks all the boxes. Lunch has two distinct menus: there’s a traditional canteen section with hot dishes like lamb and sundried tomato pie, beef stew or citrus chicken pot at a price that has you smiling; or choose from the café menu with its tortillas, wraps, grills and burgers.

On Friday evenings, you can enjoy creamy peri-peri chicken livers, beef rissoles, pork ramen or the signature spit-roasted lamb in a pita. DRINKS All the basics are there, from wines, beers on tap, ciders and a selection of hard tack to smoothies and milkshakes. SERVICE It’s a busy space and the staff are on their toes.

AMBIENCE A cleverly designed contemporary canteen with fantastic views. (DdB)
