Eat Out

THE GOLDEN PALM

-

BEST FOR A romantic evening. FOOD This relatively new owner-run restaurant serves Asian fusion food in generous, colourful, flavourful portions. The menu is concise; everything is made fresh to order in a small open kitchen that takes centre stage. Start your meal with steamed dim sum – chicken, water chestnut and spring onion; prawn and bamboo shoots; or tofu, mung bean and goat’s cheese. Not to be missed on the menu is the chef’s Asian ribs and the teriyaki bowls. Desserts vary daily, but place your order early, as it could be sold out by the end of your meal. DRINKS Currently not licensed, so BYO. Virgin G&Ts, ice teas and ginger beers are refreshing. SERVICE The staff consists of a small team, who is well trained and efficient. AMBIENCE You’re transported to the east in a moment by the restaurant’s hip tiger-print wallpaper and Asian-themed décor.

The courtyard tables are perfect for summer evenings. (NE)
