Try the Emmenthal cheese with fruity and nut flavours and the medium-grain salame rustico served with freshly baked ciabatta bread. The margherita pizza ticks all the boxes – the thin crust is crisp, the tomato base has the perfect tang and the mozzarella isn’t overpoweri­ng. The pastas are also great. The lasagna al forno is a classic beef Bolognese rendition, layered with béchamel sauce, ground beef, tangy tomato sauce and sheets of pasta. The penne alla vodka combines penne pasta, crispy bacon, fresh cream, sweet onions, vodka and grana padano cheese. For dessert, there’s chocolate cake, carrot cake and tiramisu.
