0-100km/h in 5,1 seconds - now that’s truly electric

Nissan has introduced its all-new Nissan Ariya electric crossover SUV. The Ariya is driven by a 100% electric power train presenting powerful accelerati­on and smooth, quiet operation for as many as 610 kilometres per charge.

Nissan CEO, Makoto Uchida, and chief operating officer, Ashwani Gupta, said, “The Nissan Ariya is a truly beautiful and remarkable car. It enables you to go further, easier and in comfort. It has been designed to impress and to express what Nissan strives for - making our customers’ lives better.”

The all-new Nissan Ariya is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in mid-2021.

Powerful performanc­e for a wide range of needs

“The Ariya takes the powerful performanc­e and capabiliti­es of zero-emission vehicles to a new level,” said Nissan.

The vehicle offers customers different configurat­ions inclusive of two-wheel drive and e-4ORCE all-wheel drive versions, as well as two different battery sizes. The e-4ORCE is ideal for all weather conditions as the twin electric motors provide for a predictabl­e drive.

Advanced design and technology for stressfree driving

Nissan said thanks to the ProPILOT 2.0 advanced driver assistance system and the ProPILOT Remote Park and e-Pedal features, owners will experience a much improved and stress-free drive. Also standard on the Ariya is Intelligen­t Around View Monitor, Intelligen­t Forward Collision Warning, Intelligen­t Emergency Braking and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking technology.

Spacious, flat-floor cabin

Designers took advantage of the car’s new EV platform, which allows for a flat floor design and designed one of the most spacious cabins in its class.

“The Ariya enhances driving excitement, ensures high levels of comfort and confidence and heightens the joy of connecting,” Gupta said. “It’s more than just a great EV crossover, it’s a great vehicle. It’s a true force of wonder, and it’s coming soon.”

Power plant

The Ariya will offer two derivative­s - 65 and 90 kWh in two-wheel or AWD delivering between 160kW to 290kW and offering 0-100km/h sprints of between 5,1 to 7,6 seconds.
