Cansa celebrates its survivors
MBOMBELA - Cansa hosted a special celebratory Survivors’ Tea to honour cancer survivors last week.
Due to Covid-19, the organisation was unable to host its annual Relay for Life event in its original format, but the organisation still decided to host 40 survivors for a morning breakfast and tea, with music by local artist Natascha C.
The event was held on March 24 at Southern Sun Emnotweni.
The overarching message of Relay for Life is “remember, celebrate, fight back”. Candles were lit to remember those who succumbed to cancer and to celebrate those who are still in the fight to give them hope.
A candle was also lit for Nelspruit resident Barbara Dempsey who had lost her fight against cancer on March 17.
