Cars on the Plot gets petrolheads hot
Whether you love vroom vroom or not, attending an event where petrolheads gather is sure to stir up some car memories.
The first of many to come, the recent Cars on the Plot proved to be quite a gathering. And I mean, why not? The location is just outside Mbombela, the space is open and populated with large, beautiful trees and grass, and picnic is the first thing on your mind when you arrive. If one then added some beautiful cars... More than 80 owners and cars pitched; petrolhead heaven.
“The intention is do this on a regular basis,” said organiser Riaan Wolmerans. “We want to create a platform through which lovers of beautiful cars can meet regularly with their families in tow, where kids can be kids and where the smell of an authentic boerewors roll, curry and rice, samosas and more will give you a sleepless night if you don’t buy and enjoy any.”
There were some interesting cars and people. It is my intention to bring you more individual stories on at least two of these owners - Clinton Moonsamy and another person, who is still somewhat of a mystery. Moonsamy owns some amazing Beamers, a very unique Mustang and a number of other interesting cars.
The other person is a collector of note, and his daughter, Simoné, said, "He has some interesting items with even more interesting stories to go. So watch this space!"
Interesting, too, was how the event was sort of dominated by BMWs and the beloved VW City Golf...
