Barberton miners back in court


BARBERTON - The employees of Barberton Mines accused of fraud, theft and money laundering appeared in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on May 11. Bhekinkosi Fana Madonsela (30) and Precious Nontobeko Magongo (36), former administra­tion clerks at Barberton Mines, were arrested after they allegedly colluded to syphon more than R1 million from the mines into their own bank accounts. The suspected mastermind behind the plot, Simphiwe Sangwenyi (38), is still at large. Madonsela and Magongo will appear in court again on July 12.
