Honorary rangers brush up on their first-aid skills

- Linzetta Calitz

BERG-EN-DAL - During the last weekend in May, members of various SANParks Honorary Ranger regions attended a level 1-3 first aid course organised by the Lowveld Region at this rest camp in the Kruger National Park.

The course was presented by Attie Marais, Alicia Dehning and Melanie Dingle of MD EMS Training Centre.

Elzabe de Bruyn, marketing and public relations manager for the Lowveld Region, said, “It was an intense, fun and informative three days filled with lots of laughter, rolling around on the floor and studying.”

These honorary rangers are often out in the field doing their volunteer work for SANParks, and this training ensures they are well equipped with the right skills to deal with the challenges of the wild.

“The knowledge gained will most definitely help us to look after one another better in an emergency situation. Well done to all. You did great!”
