Avroy Shlain celebrates phenomenal women
MBOMBELA - In the past month, Avroy Shlain Mpumalanga’s Lowveld independent distributors, Karen du Preez and Elsa de Wet, encouraged women to let it shine from within by hosting a spectacular competition in collaboration with 11 local businesses in which the winners could win prizes to the value of R20 000.
The entries for this competition were astounding. In the end, Gina Carvalho was chosen as the winner from a heartfelt nomination by her best friend and sister-in-law, Sandra Carvalho.
The two met 21 years ago through their ex-husbands and became best friends. They supported each other every step of the way through tough times.
Sandra said, “I take my hat off to Gina. She stuck it out in a difficult marriage to make sure her kids got the best education and made sure she was hands-on throughout. She has worked hard to put her kids through university. She is a super mom! Gina deserves a medal for being the best mother to her kids, even though things were never perfect in her life.”
She described her friend as someone who chose to dedicate time to herself, growing from a shy, inexperienced woman to a bubbly gym fanatic. “I admire her integrity, strength, determination and resilience; I do not know any other woman with her shine!
“I love her endlessly and she will always be my big sister. If I could give her the world I would, as she has stuck it out with me these past few years like nobody has. She does not know this, but I am her biggest fan,” Sandra concluded.
