Musos unite against animal cancer
MBOMBELA - Zané Jansen van Rensburg, a well-known artist in the Lowveld, and her codirector of the Mrs Mpumalanga Foundation, Jacques Lombard, joined hands with Munnik Marais, the CEO of Southern African Animal Cancer Association (SAACA), to put together the #TogetherWeStand Artist Celebration Day concert in aid of SAACA earlier this month.
Seven artists came together at Syeta Bush Lodge just outside Mbombela with an intimate crowd of about 150 to support this cause.
All artists were local and included Debbie Kriel, Anne-Mari, Liam Jacobs, Lonita and Bianca Swift, Juan Bester and Zané.
Rozanne Venter, the current
Mrs Mpumalanga Charity, also attended the event and praised the community for its support towards the artists and the contributions towards SAACA.
Marais brought an interesting aspect to the event with the “bail from a kennel” initiative that was used to jail some of the visitors. Friends and family had to bail them from this kennel to set them free. A total amount of R10 600 was raised for SAACA.
Lombard said they were immensely proud of what was achieved and had decided to start working on a second #TogetherWeStand concert in Middelburg later this month.
Mrs Mpumalanga Foundation and SAACA would like to thank Charl Verster of Syeta Bush Lodge for the venue, Hendrik van Vuuren of Mpumalanga Sound Hire for the sound, and Thatcineguyza Photography for a photography sponsorship on the day.
