Lowveld Citrus Festival fun for all
WHITE RIVER - It was three days of music, food and a host of entertaining activities at the Lowveld Citrus Festival in town at the weekend.
People flocked to El Roi Guest Lodge at the Fiesta Farm for some family fun and a chance to watch several well-known performers from the Lowveld, support local businesses and partake in some activities such as daily best-dressed competitions.
The festival opened its gates to the public on Friday afternoon, July 29, offering festivalgoers the opportunity to meet and take photos with the Airlink Pumas and the Currie Cup.
The Puma’s coach, Jimmy Stonehouse, entertained the crowd after the meet-andgreet with a few songs while other visitors walked through various food and craft stalls and grabbed a few drinks at the beer tent.
Ending the first day of the festival was Martin Bester and his band who had the crowd dancing and cheering despite the cold night.
The second day had many visitors to the various stalls and exhibitions on display and included target shooting,
a KMT Enduro bike display, 4x4 test drives, an orange bar by Joubert & Seuns, a Kids Zone and a Distell Glühwein lounge.
The festival had a string of musical performances on Saturday as well as dancers on stage. The day ended with an energetic show by the Moonshine Country Blues Band.
The last day included the ClemenGold Colour Splash Fun Run in which both adults and children could participate.
