From Brel to West End highlights await music lovers at the second Innibos Classics@Christie’s on Saturday August 20.

Niël Rademan, well-known baritone and musical director, will warm up the winter morning with Brunch with Brel.

This nostalgic production is stripped of all pretention and in the old European tradition. Rademan on the accordian is accompanie­d by piano virtuoso Elna van der Merwe.

The evening production is Musical

Moments with a stylish tribute to the most loved and popular West End musicals, including Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Sound of Music,

West Side Story and Cabaret. Soprano Lynelle Kenned will join Rademan and Van der Merwe on stage.

Rademan is a multitalen­ted performing artist who has received numerous nomination­s and awards for his musical adaptation­s and as the director of such production­s. Van der Merwe, with a doctorate in music from the University of Stellenbos­ch, is well known and awarded as accompanis­t and as a solo pianist. Kenned studied opera at the University of Cape Town, and is the recipient of awards from Naledi, Fiësta and Fleur de Cap.

Both production­s are at Christie’s at 32 on Russell on August 20. Brunch with Brel is at 10:30 and tickets cost R230. Musical Moments is in the evening at 18:30 and tickets are R285. Tickets are available at Quicket and includes a light meal. A cash bar will be available.
