No news on name changes

An age-old saying goes: “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” Recently the City of Mbombela (CoM) announced plans to change some street names in Hazyview, White River, Barberton and Mbombela. It also plans to give new street names to a new development in Tekwane North. The last name change it would like to do is to rename Pienaar. Since the deadline for submissions passed, not a word has been heard from the council about the project. “We first need to collate and draw up a report to be tabled before the council. We don't know when this will happen,” said Joseph Ngala, the spokesperson for CoM.
