Beautiful artwork auctioned off in aid of hospice

- Linzetta Calitz

WHITE RIVER - Three of the six artworks that were up for auction in aid of Hospice White River were sold to the highest bidder on August 20.

The event was hosted at Pieterson’s Art Gallery with live music by the Casterbridge Music Development Academy and raised R5 400 towards hospice.

The first artwork to sell was one by Hannes Scholtz, titled “Sunflowers for the Ukraine”, followed by “The Hunter” by Pieter Henn.

The day after the auction took place, Henn, also the owner of the gallery, had a buyer contact him for “Ballerina” by André van der Merwe.

This leaves one more artwork per artist left up for grabs, as each of them donated two of their pieces.

If you are interested in “Alone” by Van der Merwe, “Portrait of Ryk” by Scholtz, or “Pride” by Henn, you can contact Henn on 061 287 3036.
