Think of the SANBS this Heritage Day

-

MBOMBELA - As the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) celebrates Heritage Day this year, it is reflecting on the generous contributions of donors who help write the stories that define the country's heritage.

This year it falls within the 21st anniversary year of the SANBS, a remarkable achievement in its own right.

The SANBS’ heritage is deep-seated in its hard-earned reputation as a respected authority on blood transfusion services, worldwide. Integral to the service’s success are regular blood donors, without whom its legacy could not have been built.

“It has been a 21 year journey of challenges and triumph, but at the heart of it all are our donors who are dedicated to altruistically giving their time and livesaving blood to those who need it,” said its CEO, Ravi Reddy.

The SANBS called on everyone to spare some time this Heritage Day to make a life-saving difference by coming together to celebrate what we all have in common - blood.

“Embracing our heritage goes beyond taking pride in cultural roots, it is also about celebrating the versatile community that is South Africa. So, while you consider your unique celebration of Heritage Day this year, make time for an act of kindness and help the SANBS to sustain one of our country’s most treasured resources, our nation’s blood supply,” concluded Reddy.

Join the SANBS family of donors by sharing the gift of life. With one donation, you can save up to three lives.
