Collector’s books on the Lowveld on sale at KLCBT at Crossing

Rare books on the Lowveld at much-reduced prices are now for sale at the tourism booking and informatio­n centre of the Kruger Lowveld Chamber for Business and Tourism, at the Crossing Shopping Centre, next to Mica. Africana like Dr Tol Pienaar’s bulky Cameo of the Past and its Afrikaans equivalent, Neem uit die verlede, together with a highly sought-after set of old maps of the area are marked down from R650 to R250. This includes Dr Gerrit Haarhoff’s Forgotten Tracks and Trails: The Eastern Escarpment and the Lowveld, marked down from R450 to R250. The second of a new series on towns of the Lowveld, one on Graskop following an edition on Barberton, is now also on sale at R200 per copy. Hazyview is to follow soon. Reviews on these books are to follow here soon.
