Baby Pub and Grill recently hosted an aqua summer party in aid of Grace Baby Haven.

The event kicked off at 11:00 on Saturday with a steady flow of patrons coming and going throughout the day.

The pub went as far as covering the outside paving with sand, just to add that extra beachy vibe.

‘Grace Baby Haven is a place of safety for abandoned, abused and neglected babies. It relies on us as a community to help them’

The available pool provided some muchneeded relief on an extremely humid day, while the four DJs kept attendees well entertained. The owner of Bush Baby, Amber-Leigh Hayes, said all she ever wanted to do with her life was give back and help people, so she decided to host the summer party.

“But with all my events I want to give back to a good cause. The house parents of Grace Baby Haven attended a birthday party here once, and they were here with one of the babies that came in...”

Grace Baby Haven is a place of safety for abandoned, abused and neglected babies between the ages nought and two.

“I have a tattoo on my arm that says ‘Everything happens for a reason’, and I just felt like they kind of found me. We bumped into each other and got talking.

“They are a non-profit, so they rely on us as a community to help them keep on what they are doing.”
