Get ready to celebrate Mbombela Golf Club’s 94th

- Stefan de Villiers

The countdown has begun, and in less than a week’s time, Mbombela Golf Club will be celebrating its 94th birthday with a bang.

This momentous occasion will be celebrated with a golf day on November 16, in a culmination of all that makes the sport at Mbombela Golf Club great.

For only R1 600, you and three others can join in the celebration - dinner and halfway house included.

The food and beverage manager and organiser of the day,

Maruschka

Cameron, said there are still various other opportunities to become part of the day. A limited number of fourballs are still available at R1 600, while a few tee boxes can still be sponsored for only R1 500. Other sponsorship opportunities are alsoavailable. To find out what these are, get in touch with Cameron on WhatsApp on 083 626 0562, or mgcfb@ mweb.co.za.

The day not only gives you an opportunity to bond with friends, to celebrate golf and to commemorate the club’s rich history, but a chance to give back to the club by assisting it in its journey to upgrade its food and beverage department.

The organisers have something special up their sleeves for local establishments and Mbombela Golf Club lovers. Twenty sponsors will be given the exclusive chance to become part of the club’s rich history, by contributing to the upgrades and having their names engraved on a golden plate, to be placed in the soonto-be-new and improved halfway house. There are only a few spots left. In a format that is quite unusual to many, foursomes, you and a partner form a team and play a single ball between the two of you.

You then take alternate shots with this ball, so the format is also known as alternate shot. This format sees your teammate decide which of you will tee off on the evennumbered holes and which on the odd-numbered ones. You then play alternate shots throughout the play of that hole.
