MBOMBELA - The Rooikat Wholesale Liquors that locals have come to know and love has now expanded to another part of the city.

Rooikat officially celebrated the opening of its new branch at Delta EMD Park, 21 Bulpin Street.

Its management, business partners and nearest and dearest gathered at the Mbombela Golf Club on November 2 to share in this momentous occasion.

The family-owned and -managed wholesaler has a passion for the liquor industry, with experience in this field since 1998.

During his speech on the evening, Johan Breytenbach of Rooikat shared what they have done as a family to get to where they are today. He thanked everyone who played a role along their journey, and most importantly, thanked the Lord for having blessed them in all they have done.

"With this facility and further future aspirations, we really hope to form stronger strategic partnerships. We really hope that an investment like this makes a statement in that we are taking volume growth, together with yourselves, very seriously. Looking at the massive role that independent route to market operators in our South African liquor industry plays, we truly do believe the positives far outweigh any other factors.”

The new site is 11 000m² and will focus on distribution. It is, of course, also open to the public.

It has been described as being bigger and better, but with the same low prices.

Naturally, to celebrate this milestone in its history, there are unbeatable specials at both branches - these are valid until November 26 or while stock lasts.

In addition to the new branch, the original one at 1 Stinkhout Crescent will remain fully operational.

To Rooikat’s suppliers Breytenbach had these words, “We have now set the table and the Lowveld is ready to eat. Please make sure to brew that beer, distill that spirits and harvest the grapes, and please keep on sending the trucks down to our beloved Lowveld!”
