Rooikat Golf Day fun for all
MBOMBELA - The annual Rooikat Golf Day, the biggest company charity golf day in the Lowveld, was played in high spirits at Mbombela Golf Club last Thursday.
A field of 184 golfers of varying skill levels took to the course from early in the morning until late in the afternoon, enjoying the day especially set out for them by Rooikat Liquors.
The four-ball alliance scrambled drive with two scores to count, levelled the playing field throughout with all golfers treated to hydration stations and fun activities at each tee throughout the day.
With bright and colourful banners and flags from sponsors all over the golf club, coupled with a mechanical bull, a dunk tank, a Johnny Walker booth and stall by local gin brand Ginnevrinne, the club resembled a fun festival ground.
The longest drive went to
Natan Uys.
The funds raised will be donated to the Carli Breytenbach Trust Fund.
“This was Rooikat’s day to say thank you to all our customers. We do this once a year to thank our customers for all the support they have given us throughout the year.
We really wanted everyone to have fun day out, because they definitely deserve it,” said Johan Breytenbach of Rooikat.
The event did not stop when the last four-ball finished. The camaraderie continued well into the evening with a prize-giving and lots of fun.
The local band DARE to Believe provided live entertainment after the prizegiving was done.
They had many people up and dancing, despite a long day on the course.
The Rooikat Golf Day was once again a roaring success. It remains the highlight of the Lowveld’s golf day calendar.
