Penryn College celebrates excellence
MBOMBELA - Penryn College recently announced the school’s topperforming learners as well as their best sportsmen of the year awards.
The top academic pupil for Grade 12 in 2022 was awarded to Emelton Mabjaia. He was thus also awarded academic full colours as well as Penryn full colours.
Second in the grade went to Stephen Taylor, who received academic half colours as well as Penryn honours and the Eagle Award. The Eagle Award is presented by the headmaster to a learner who strives for excellence in all aspects of both their school and personal life.
Third in the grade was Philos-Junior Marakalla, who was awarded academic half colours.
The sportsman of the year was awarded to two learners - Bandile Mndawe for cricket, as he is a member of the U19 Mpumalanga Rhinos Coke Team, and Safari von Benecke, for hockey. Safari is a member of the Mpumalanga U19 hockey team.
