Mbombela Leadership Academy ready to open its doors to learners
MBOMBELA - The Mbombela Leadership Academy (MLA) held its first open day, welcoming parents and potential new learners to explore the premises and meet the teachers on Saturday.
Situated at 44 Marloth Street, in the heart of city, MLA will welcome its first learners to school in January.
Lowveld parents and their children were greeted at the entrance of the new school on Saturday and given a tour of the premises and its brandnew facilities.
Potential learners were treated to some sweet treats and popcorn and were able to play a few games in the school's playground, while the
MLA staff chatted to the parents, giving more in-depth details of the structure of the school, its classes and its values.
The school will take grade one to seven learners and classes will be limited to 25 learners each to ensure a disciplined atmosphere and education of the highest standard.
The school uniform has a unique and modern look, with the intense summer heat of Mbombela being a deciding factor in the material used.
The curriculum is in line with the Department of Education’s framework. All subjects will be presented in English and will include English home language, Afrikaans and siSwati as additional languages, mathematics, social science, natural science, technology, economic and management science, life orientation, Bible, computer studies and creative arts. Appropriately qualified and experienced staff as well as a principal have already been carefully selected and appointed. All staff members are passionate about education and making a difference in children’s lives.
