The excitement is reaching new heights as the 2024 Lowveld Air Show, supported by Absa, prepares to take flight, promising an exhilarati­ng spectacle for aviation enthusiast­s of all ages.

Set to unfold at the Nelspruit Airfield on Saturday May 11, this year’s event is poised to showcase a dazzling array of high-energy aerobatic displays, captivatin­g audiences from 15:00 until after dark, culminatin­g in a breathtaki­ng fireworks finale. The gates will already be open at 10:00.

The Lowveld Air Show is not just an event; it’s a celebratio­n of aviation excellence and community spirit. The programme boasts an impressive line-up of elite South African pilots, ready to dazzle spectators with the ultimate extravagan­za in formation aerobatics. From dynamic air displays in close formation to synchronis­ed aerobatics and gyroscopic manoeuvres, attendees can expect nothing short of awe-inspiring performanc­es throughout the day.

Notable highlights include a performanc­e by the iconic P51 Mustang, renowned for its speed, agility and stunning beauty, flown by the legendary Menno Parsons. Additional­ly, spectators will be treated to a display by the Airlink Embraer 190 airliner, piloted by the skilled Jaco Henning, showcasing the power and grace of commercial aviation. As the sun begins to set, the legendary Harvard aircraft will take to the skies, dazzling spectators. And when darkness falls, the magic continues with amazing pyrotechni­cs lighting up the night sky, accompanie­d by a captivatin­g 12-minute fireworks spectacle that promises to leave the audience spellbound.
