Community generosity rules the day in aid of Bossies Community Justice

- Blake Linder

Golfers and the community at large united at Mbombela Golf Club to enjoy 18 holes of golf and fun on Friday May 3, all in aid of the Bossies Community Justice organisation.

The day was made possible by J Terblanche Attorneys, who organised the day in aid of Bossies Community Justice. The competition format adopted for the day was a fourball alliance format, with two scores to count. The golfing community banded together in great numbers to take part in the competition, with a total of 144 players swinging for the hills on the day.

The day was also incredibly well supported, with every single tee box being sponsored by a local business and even more sponsors on some of the greens too.

This truly showcased everyone’s giving spirit, as those involved with the golf day opened not only their hearts, but their wallets too.

Their generosity meant that the organisation received great financial support, as roughly R90k was raised, which will go towards Bossies Community Justice and their efforts to fight crime. There was no shortage of gees either, as the participants’ families and loved ones made sure the golf club was packed to the rafters with love and support.

During the prizegiving, pretty much no one went without a prize to their name thanks to the many sponsors that came on board. The J Terblanche Attorneys Golf Day in support of Bossies Community Justice was ultimately won by Dane Heyneke, Juan Terblanche, Pontie van Rooyen and Jaco Bouwer.

Pierre Coetzee, Hein Kruger, Zander Coetzee and Ruard Nel finished in second place. Roeale Strydom, Waldo Lubbe,

James Peypers and Franchoa Giliomee claimed third.
