Blue Chip Flight School

-

Situated at Wonderboom National Airport in Pretoria, Blue Chip Flight School has provided flight training from Private Pilot Licence to Airline Transport Pilot Licence since 1996. The school has dedicated itself to provide the best quality training, never compromising on safety. The school seeks to optimise value through efficient operation and by instilling a culture of professionalism and on time performance throughout the organisation.

Blue Chip never forgets that the flight school deals with people, caring for the individual is paramount. Students must feel that they ‘belong’. No individual is simply ‘processed’. When you join Blue Chip Flight School, you are joining a family and not just another training institution.

It is refreshing to find old world values of integrity, honesty and decency combined with ultra-modern technology and skills in general aviation today. Breytech Aviation represents these values and skills. Named after its owner, Willie Breytenbach, he has been a permanent feature of aircraft maintenance at Wonderboom since 1974 when he started his apprenticeship under the watchful eye of Gerald Krook. Willie has always been fascinated by aircraft and he soon obtained his Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License as well as his private pilot’s license, for both fixed wing and rotor wing. In 1987 he ventured out on his own, establishing a well-respected Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO).

Willie maintains to a wide array of fixed wing aircraft and helicopters and his clients come from far all over the country and beyond its borders.

From the outset Willie maintains a focused approach on quality and excellence. He specialises in engine overhauls yet he continues to service and maintain his regular and loyal band of clients’ aircraft. Willie has category A, B, C, D and X on his maintenance license, one of very few aircraft engineers to have this distinction. Breytech Aviation imports all parts for engine overhauls directly from the suppliers in the United States and saves his clients significant amounts of money in the process.

It is very comforting for his appreciative customers to know that there is one person who alone takes responsibility for their precious aircraft. There is no need for them to use different engine shops and maintenance facilities, because Breytech Aviation manages all requirements under one roof.

Willie is a very keen and passionate pilot himself and understands his clients’ concerns. He says that the biggest challenge in his business is to maintain the fine balance between economy and safety. Willie is very proud of the fact that not one single aircraft serviced by him has ever been involved in an accident or incident caused by defective workmanship. Despite this, for the sake of his clients he firmly believes in liability insurance. Willie holds test pilot ratings for both fixed and rotor wing aircraft. He is therefore able to undertake post maintenance test flights, whilst he also understands the client pilots’ needs and expectations.

Breytech Aviation undertakes maintenance on the following:

• Fixed Wing: Beechcraft, Piper, Cessna, Aerostar, Mooney and Cirrus

• Rotor Wing: Robinson R22 and R44

• Engines: Repairs / Overhauls; Lycoming and Continental

• Components: Repairs / Overhauls; Continental fuel injection systems and fuel pumps, precision fuel and carburettor systems, magnetos, governors, turbo controllers and Avstar fuel injection systems and carburettors

• Propellers: Overhauls, repairs and midlife inspections
