Viking series 400 Twin Otter

The Viking Twin Otter is the most versatile and reliable 19-passenger turboprop aircraft available today. Featuring a fully integrated digital avionics suite, the Series 400 Twin Otter offers exceptiona­l performanc­e capability and reliabilit­y operating from unimproved airfields in extreme environmen­ts due to its robust design, equalised maintenanc­e programme and the dependabil­ity of its PT6A-34 engines. With multiple quick-change interior options available and the ability to be configured with standard land gear, floats or intermedia­te flotation gear, the Series 400 Twin Otter can be utilised in multiple roles including regional commuter, infrastruc­ture support, corporate shuttle, cargo and charter operations.

Viking’s Guardian 400 Twin Otter is an economical force-multiplyin­g special mission aircraft that features robust design and exceptiona­l performanc­e capabiliti­es ideal for multiple roles in extreme environmen­ts, including surveillan­ce, SAR, civil patrol, environmen­tal monitoring, parachute and medevac operations. Offered as a versatile airframe that can be easily customised, the Guardian 400’s flexible architectu­re allows operators to select sensor equipment, interior layouts and landing gear configurat­ion to suit their specific mission profile. The Guardian 400’s low acquisitio­n and operating costs, off-strip STOL capability, low speed manoverabi­lity and multi-role versatilit­y make it the cost-effective solution for 21st century special mission requiremen­ts.

In 2020 Viking celebrates its 50th anniversar­y in the Canadian aerospace industry, marking a significan­t milestone in the company’s journey to become a dynamic world-class organisati­on that embraces new technology and innovative product and process developmen­t in support of legendary Canadian aircraft. Viking is the Type Certificat­e holder for all out-of-production De Havilland Canada aircraft (DHC-1 through the DHC-7) and all Canadair amphibious aircraft, including CL-215, CL-215T & CL-415 aerial firefighte­rs. As the Original Equipment Manufactur­er (OEM) for these iconic Canadian aircraft designs, Viking fully supports a diverse global operator base with exclusive factory spare parts manufactur­ing, in-service engineerin­g and technical support, technical publicatio­ns, warranty administra­tion, as well as field service support.

Headquarte­red in Victoria, British Columbia, Viking is a subsidiary of Longview Aviation Capital, a prominent Canadian investment firm establishe­d in 2016 to manage a portfolio of long-term investment­s in the Canadian aerospace industry.
