HELICOPTERS

-

Helicopteres Guimbal was founded late-2000, with the purpose of developing and certifying the two-seat helicopter Cabri G2. This also involved the full-scale industrialisation for serial production. The programme was based on the achievements of the technological demonstrator that Bruno Guimbal had built and tested in the 90’s. Helicopteres Guimbal is one of the very few companies holding a Design Organisation Agreement (DOA) for aircraft design.

This agreement, delivered and periodically controlled by the EASA, testifies the rigorousness and traceability of design, ground and flight testing, airworthiness monitoring procedures. The Cabri G2 is entirely certified following EASA CS-27 and FAR-27 rules, covering all helicopters under a maximum gross weight of 3175 kg.These rules, refined during more than 50 years by experts, gather these years of experience in terms of safety.

Cabri G2

A main rotor head fully articulated on elastomeric and a Fenestron® tail rotor, maintenance-free and highly tolerant to damage, CAD/ CAM mechanical components, with all the most important parts machined from forged blanks, the main structure entirely made out of carbon fibre composite, corrosion and fatigue-free. Advanced electronics protected against electro-magnetic interference. An electrical harness that complies to the most recent standards; Kapton® insulation, waterproof connectors, lightning protection.

State-of-the-art avionics: The heart of the Cabri G2’s avionics is the EPM, a very sophisticated glass cockpit monitor, which gathers in one single neat and sharp display, all the helicopter’s and power plant functions. In southern Africa the Cabri G2 is represented by Starlite Aero Sales with Demo models available at Starlite’s Durban and Mossel Bay training facilities. Starlite’s fleet of Cabri G2’s has completed more than 12,000 training hours.
