KOPTER HELICOPTERS

-

The SH09 offers technologies, cabin volume and performance of a twin-engine at the cost of a single-engine helicopter. Kopter is now fully part of Leonardo Helicopters. Kopter’s SH09 next generation single-engine helicopter perfectly complements Leonardo’s product range, offering opportunities for future technological developments. Positioned in the 2.5 metric ton class, the SH09 is the only singleengine product in the last four decades with an all-new design.

Engineered using the latest technologies and high-tech materials, the SH09 is setting a new reference in its category, featuring a crashworthy composite structure, IFR-ready Garmin G3000H avionics suite, gear box innovative designs, low vibration main rotor and low noise signature shrouded tail rotor architecture. The SH09 presents the highest standards of safety, comfort and performance coupled with low operating costs.

Thanks to its large and versatile cabin, the SH09 is a vertical lift platform suitable for many different missions: passenger transport, medical evacuation, law enforcement and utility. The modularity of the cabin makes the most of the flat floor, the unique high ceiling concept and the larger cabin volume in its class (6.45m3) - comparable to a light twin helicopter.

It offers multiple arrangements with up to eight individual crashworthy passenger seats and unobstructed rear access loading through the clamshell doors and high tail boom for cargo and medical stretchers. A person can stand upright under the tail boom, while protection is provided through the shrouded tail rotor. Passenger sliding doors and pilot hinge doors on both sides provide unobstructed side accessibility, without structural elements between cockpit and cabin area.

The SH09 offers outstanding payload and sling-load capability. The powerful Honeywell HTS 900 turbine with 1020 hp is of particular interest to operators who wish to avail of hot and high-altitude performance. The SH09 engine is also extremely efficient in terms of fuel consumption, which combined with its standard tank provides a maximum range in excess of 800 km (432 nautical miles) or, alternatively, a maximum endurance exceeding five hours.

The SH09 offers the highest standards of safety, comfort and performance coupled with low operating costs. It may be suitably equipped to operate in the most adverse environments. With a fast cruise speed of 260 km/h (140 knots) it is not only one of the fastest helicopters in its category. A noteworthy characteristic is its extremely low noise level, not only inside the large cabin, but also externally.

The AW119Kx is a fast and powerful light single engine helicopter with unmatched versatility for a wide range of missions. With excellent flying qualities, outstanding controllability and manoeuvrability characterise the helicopter. This helicopter has robust skid landing gear, modern avionics and spacious interior to enable flexibility. AW119Kx operators benefit from the highest productivity levels among single engine helicopters, with payload and performance at the top of its category. A high resistance cocoon type airframe and redundancy of all critical systems that is typically available on twin engine helicopters offer best-in-class level of safety.

The AW119Kx features the Garmin G1000NXi VFR glass cockpit that enhances situational awareness. The Genesys Aerosystems IFR glass cockpit is available as an alternative to Garmin’s avionics suite. On 16 July 2019 the AW119Kx became the first single-engine IFR helicopter in decades to meet all IFR standards and be fully certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The AW119Kx fully meets current IFR requirements allowing pilots to operate the aircraft safely in low visibility and challenging weather conditions thanks to advanced avionics by Genesys Aerosystems, redundant helicopter flight systems, flight director and an auxiliary generator. Both glass cockpits comprise Synthetic Vision System with Highway in the Sky (HITS) depiction, moving map and Helicopter Terrain Awareness Warning System (HTAWS) with worldwide terrain and obstacle database.

In September 2019 Leonardo celebrated a historic achievement: the delivery of its 1000th AW139. Belonging to the AWFamily of products, the AW139 can perform a large number of missions thanks to its superior performance, proven technologies and safety features. The platform accommodates up to 15 passengers at the highest speed, in the most spacious cabin, with the best power reserve of any helicopter in its class. Designed to exceed the most rigorous regulatory standards, the AW139 features a state-of-the-art avionics and mission systems to minimise pilot workload and optimise operational efficiency. The helicopter is exceptionally comfortable due to incredibly low noise and vibration levels.

Passengers can enjoy a relaxing flight thanks to the largest cabin in its class, finished in the finest interior trims. The wide hinged doors with the single electrical retractable step ensure easy access for all passengers, whilst the baggage compartment provides high capacity for luggage.

The AW139’s hallmarks are elegance, style and sophistication. Customers benefit from a high level of personalisation. Experienced design teams, who have worked with customers around the world, offer specialist advice on the perfect mix of features and highquality furnishings. The AW139 is the market-leading intermediate twin-engine helicopter; the benchmark for safety design features, performance capabilities and productivity in challenging multi-role operations all over the world. The aircraft features state-of-the-art integrated avionics systems with four-axis digital autopilot and benefits from the best-in-class power reserve which provides excellent Category A performance capabilities in a wide range of operating conditions, including ‘hot and high.’ Passengers and mission operators benefit from the largest, most comfortable cabin its class.
