As a dedicated to helicopter charter and flight training business of excellence in the South African aviation industry, Henley Air is based in three large hangars at Rand Airport. What started out in 1995 as a dream has grown into a major helicopter business. In the early years, the company was using one Bell Jet Ranger, whereas today Henley Air provides its customers the option of a significant variety of single engine and multi-engine helicopters to meet the diverse requirements.
The Henley Air hangar houses a Bell 222 / 230 centre of excellence incorporating eight Bell 222 and three Bell 230 types. The latest addition to the Henley Air offering is a newly developed and commissioned Bell 222B/UT simulator which is fully operational.The Henley Air business profile is designed to offer its customers reliability of service from trained professionals in the aviation industry. The charter division will consider all charter requests. In cases where the company does not have the required helicopter within its fleet, Henley Air undertakes to source and operate such a helicopter or a suitable equivalent. Henley Air’s on-call service is available to its customers and clients 24 / 7.

• Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). Henley Air is proud to be associated with ROCKET (Rapid On-Call Emergency Transport) operating a dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) from Rand Airport and Kimberley Airport. The company owns eight Bell 222UTs that are the dedicated, permanently configured, ICU equipped air ambulance helicopter ensuring that an advanced care practitioner-based helicopter service is available for immediate dispatch to life threatening emergencies as a primary resource.This service is also available to expedite inter-facility transfers of the critically ill and injured.
