Thousands of people gathered at the Orlando Stadium to bid farewell to struggle heroine Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on Saturday. She was laid to rest at the Fourways Cemetery north of Johannesburg. Heads of States and international dignitaries such as American human rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson and model Naomi Campbell graced the occasion.

The funeral turned into a political battle ground, with EFF leader Julius Malema using it to call out those he accused of being“sell outs”for having distanced themselves from Madikizela-Mandela when she was still alive. President Cyril Ramaphosa, and former presidents Jacob Zuma, Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe were among the dignitaries.
