Ama­jita ready for hec­tic sched­ule

THE 2017 COSAFA U-20 Cham­pi­ons, Ama­jita will be­gin their 2018 cal­en­dar this com­ing week­end when they go into their first camp of the year, ahead of what prom­ises to be a busy year for the re­gional cham­pi­ons.

The South African Men’s un­der-20 Na­tional Team, has been in camp since Sun­day un­til to­day, yes­ter­day, Wed­nes­day, 25 April 2018, where they be­gan their prepa­ra­tions for the up­com­ing 2019 CAF Africa U-20 Cup of Na­tions qual­i­fiers.

Ama­jita are sched­uled to be­gin their qual­i­fiers on 11 May 2018 in the sec­ond round when they will play the win­ners be­tween Mozam­bique and Sey­chelles.

The 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Na­tions will be hosted by Niger from 24 Fe­bru­ary – 10 March 2019.

Ama­jita had a pros­per­ous 2017 sea­son where they came fourth in the Africa U-20 Cup of Na­tions, qual­i­fied for the 2017 FIFA World Cup in Korea, won the COSAFA U-20 Cham­pi­onship, while most of the play­ers de­buted for the club’s se­nior teams and are now reg­u­lars in their re­spec­tive start­ing line ups.

Head coach Thabo Senong had his hands full as he tried to em­u­late these suc­cesses with a brand new squad. He called up 32 play­ers for this train­ing camp. –
