Elephant tusks seized in raid
POLICE found six elephant tusks worth R1m in a raid in a house in Itsoseng near Mahikeng.
They also found 92 pill containers with antiretroviral (ARV) drugs. Six people were arrested.
Capt Aafje Botma said: “The provincial stock theft task team and Itsoseng police, acting on a tipoff, went to a house in the area.
“During the search, six elephant tusks, with an estimated street value of R1m and 92 pill containers, containing ARVs were found and confiscated,” Botma said. The accused are said to be middle aged.
