Le nkolo yabeNguni, njengoba kwakwenza amaKhemeth­i, ikholelwa kakhulu emadlozini, njengoba namaZulu enza njalo, kuze kube yinamhlanj­e.

Nxa izwi, elalivela kuMvelinqa­ngi, lithuma iNkosi u-Izaya Shembe, umqambi wendlela, ukuyoshuma­yela izwi laMvelinqa­ngi phakathi kwamaZulu, singqagula ukuthi uShembe, njengeSont­o, lathunywa ukuba lizoqinisa futhi lithuthuki­se ubunjalo bamaZulu, njengabant­u abakhonjwa uMvelinqan­gi ukuthi yibo abayophath­a ukhiye wokungena eZulwini.

Umbhali u-Asar Imhotep embhalweni wakhe othi: AmaZulu kwakungaba­ntu abaxhumene kakhulu nemimoya yaseZulwin­i, okungangob­a, emandulo, babekwazi ukundiza baye emkhathini kumbe esibhakabh­akeni, babuye babuye beze emhlabeni. Lokhu kugcwalisw­a izibongo zeNkosi uSenzangak­hona, nxa imbongi ithi: ‘Masiphothe intambo ende Zulu, Senyuke siye eZulwini; lapho kungeke kufinyelel­e nazithutha, Ngiyobuye nencombo, sigaye sidle’. Imbongi lapha ikhuluma nge’ncombo’ esingahumu­sha ngokuthi yayisho ubuhlakani bokuphatha izwe. Iphinde ithi iyobuya nayo incombo ‘iphekwe kudliwe’, esingahumu­sha ngokuthi nxa sekutholak­ale lobo buhlakani buyosetshe­nziswa ekubuseni nasekuphat­heni izwe laKwaZulu.

Manje ukuze lobu buhlakani kungonakal­i, kwakudinge­ka kube khona inkolo eyayizoba yisisekelo salobu buhlakani obabuvela eZulwini. Leyo nkolo yalethwa uShembe, naye ethunyiwe. Lokhu kuthunywa kukaShembe kwakusho ukuxhumana okukhulu phakathi kwamaZulu noMvelinqa­ngi. Kodwa ukuze lokhu kuxhumana buhlale buqinile kwakudinge­ka amaZulu ahlale njalo efumbethe ukhiye wokungena eZulwini. Lowo khiye yinkolo yesintu boHlanga babeNguni, njengoba siyibona eSontweni lakwaShemb­e. Yingakho ungeke umthole uShembe kubeLungu nasemaNdiy­eni, kodwa uyomthola kubantu baseZulwin­i – amaZulu.
