Change The Way You Ride!

Boost your performance with EMS Cycling training programs – to target cycling-specific muscles and help you ride stronger.

WHAT IS EMS CYCLING?

EMS Cycling is an electrical muscular stimulation studio that uses the results of EMG testing to determine how activated your muscles are. This assessment determines which muscles are firing, and which ones are not, so you can improve your performance. Biokineticist Glynn Moolman will then design a cycling programme for you, based on your assessment.

WHAT IS EMG TESTING?

Electromyography (EMG) is an electro-diagnostic medicine technique for evaluating and recording electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. An electromyograph detects the electric potential generated by muscle cells when these cells are electrically or neurologically activated. EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) is then used to stimulate muscles not firing to balance up the cyclist’s body and recruit more muscle fibres.

WHO IS IT FOR?

EMS Cycling training programmes is for everyone who rides a bike. It helps to recruit muscles that conventional training cannot. EMS cycling improves power and cardiovascular fitness in just 20 minutes of training – it uses no cables, and can be done both in studio and out on the road. EMS is effective for road, MTB, track and BMX cyclists, and for every age group, from 10 to 70 years old – and it suits professional, serious amateur and amateur riders.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

EMS training is performed on your own bicycle after specific muscles have been activated off the bike, in order to focus only on your weaknesses. A watt test is performed both before and after a four-week EMS Cycling training programme, to determine your improvement.
