CANNONDALE SCALPEL SI CARBON 4

TThe biggest change for the 2019 Scalpel is the addition of the new, single-crown Lefty Ocho, which is said to be 250g lighter than Cannondale’s dual-crown Lefty.

The Ocho is stiff and smooth and I felt totally in control. The 55mm fork offset, coupled with a 69.5° head angle, makes for super-light, fast steering.

The Scalpel loves going uphill. But it’s no slouch on the downhills too: I didn’t feel like I was getting thrown around, and I found myself cutting neat lines through rocky sections and scooting cleanly through tight turns.

The Scalpel is a proven XC winner, and now it’s lighter and faster than ever.
