Feed your mind, not just your body: Keep a bag of jelly beans or your favourite small snack handy for long rides with lots of climbs. Pop a few at the base of each to give your mood and muscles a little hit of energy. It’s easier to keep the negative talk at bay if your brain has some sugar.
