GIRO PRIVATEER LACE R1 999, omnico.co.za
Most gravel riders use mountain-bike cleats, which are smaller and less obtrusive than road cleats, and allow you to walk around more easily. But full-on MTB shoes are overkill for gravel – you still want a bit of that roadie sleekness. These lace-ups look the part, while still offering plenty of durable protection around the toe and heel. Also, the laces allow you to tweak the fit along the length of your foot.
