EU dismisses French complaints

French allegations that South Korea is guilty of unfair competition in the car industry do not appear to have any merit, European Union Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht said yesterday. France, which is home to car makers PSA Peugeot Citroen and Renault, had asked the EU to place Korean car imports, including Hyundai and Kia, under surveillance.
